M.P. Mayeux Surveying & Boundary Consulting, LLC was founded by Michael P. Mayeux, a Professional Surveyor since 1984, with 31 years of surveying experience which includes an impressive 17+ year record of court recognized expertise in land surveying related matters. His work experiences in the oil and gas industry has enhanced his abilities in dealing with complex survey issues involving boundaries. His demonstrated expertise as an expert in the field of surveying is documented in numerous decisions rendered by District Courts, Courts of Appeal and Federal Courts.
The complexities of boundary related issues include mineral leases, location of section, township and range lines established by official township surveys of the General Land Office, avulsion; apportionment of accretions; riparian boundaries along lakes, bays, bayous, rivers, and arms of the sea; title boundary surveys involving ancient documents. His charge has included reviews of both Federal and State land patents, American States Claim papers, land grants, Federal and State Tract Book records, U.S. deputy surveyors contracts, as well as township overlaps, gaps, accretion, erosion, ordinary low water mark and mean high water boundaries, Vertical Datums, and retracement of Official General Land Office surveys. He is considered an expert in the use of aerial photography in determining property boundaries. His testimony and/or affidavits include issues of adjacency involving OCS properties adjacent to Alabama, Louisiana and Texas.
Mr. Mayeuxs clientele includes public bodies, private oil and gas operating companies and private landowners. He is known in the industry for establishing trust and confidence with his clients and the thoroughness of his work.
